Talk about procrastination man.. yeah.. been wanting to update but never got around to it haha..

Months.. I should be doing this more often..

Life has sort of settled down to a more or less mundane schedule.. Work.. Home….work.. home.. weekends in Simei… Soccer shoots on Sunday.. with a little this and that in between…

Resolution personally this year.. yeah i know it’s little late but.. I will try to post more often.. shoot more often.. thinking of going into wedding shoots.. improve.. And I’ve been saying this a lot but never doing .. I want to start doing Photo Fridays again!!!.. Argh…

I am loving the new things i could do with my phone..sure I’m a Sony Ericsson fanboy.. sure i would be just as happy with a Samsung Galaxy S.. But i Still love the xperia x10.. and it further builds my disdain for the iphone .. LOL…

I’ve known of Geocaching for a while now, and never got around to participate. What IS geocaching ??
Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. Way back then, I fooled around with participating but never did because i never had a GPS device.. and buying one for the sake of Geocaching is just not a good idea. Till now…

I’d just installed the C:Geo app on my X10.. and I am already loving it. Yesterday, Reets and myself, we stopped over to get some groceries on the way home from work. I’d been fiddlin around with C:Geo, so I knew there was a “cache” in the area. I told Reets that I wanted to find that cache and she was game for a little treasure hunt..

Sheltered from the elements, this easy cache does not require any special equipment but a keen sense of caching.

The published coords will bring you to this huge building. The cache is located within the building’s parking area.
Note: Parking area is open 24 hours.
To work out the location where the cache is hidden; you will need to solve the following puzzle.
Find the 6 letter name of this building. Let’s call it as ABCDEF.
Now use the simple conversion per following:
A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, … X = 24, Y = 25, Z = 26
Cache is located at the corner of car park lot number
(((A + B + C + D + E + F) * 7) + B).

I did my sums, and we were off looking for the specific lot. We looked around for a bit, before Reets noted that i had miscalculated (it was 13 instead of 18). Now Reets was on the warpath, she just HAD to find the cache.. After an hour of searching (yes an hour) and swearing at the person who numbered the carpark lots, we found the location, but we couldn’t find the cache. It was well hidden or maybe because we were new to this we didn’t know what we were looking for. We trudged away declaring that the next time we were in the area we would discover the cache.

This weekend, Me and Reets will be going on a date.. a GeoCache date… to uncover little hidden treasures around our place. (i count at least 10)… Maybe will bring Diaz along for the ride as well..

It’s now the tail end of September. YOG has come and gone, but the memories remain. Met a whole lot of good people, Some bad people… And everyone was right, it was a once in a lifetime experience and I enjoyed every tiring moment of it. so .. yeah..(not oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah.. please that song is just cheesy)… Again some pictures.. this time taken with the workforce cam…

oooh ooh… i got a new phone.. .. the xperia x10… it has some of its shortcomings.. but i like it very muchly thank you..

ok nuff of a segue… the YOG pics of my crew… can’t wait to meet them again tomorrow…

I caught wind of this series through the guys a Applegeeks. They’ve, well Ananth has talked about it a fair bit in the past, so I decided to just grab the season. It kind of reminds me that i like the visual style that Joss Whedon applies. Maybe it’s just me. It’s seems to be a shame that only one season was made. It had a very good script.. an excellent cast. Again, even Reets watched the episodes with me. We are like 2 episodes shy of the season ending, then we’re gonna watch Serenity, which is a continuation of the Firefly series set a few years after the last episode of the season. I couldn’t help but find most of the cast very familiar. One for sure is Summer Glau, which we all remember from the Sarah Connor Chronicles as the female terminator that was sent to protect John Connor. Then I realised that Firefly was made in 2005. LOL. so she was in Firefly FIRST then SCC… Also Ron Glass.. Just cannot put a finger on where I’d seen him before.but yeah they were familiar faces but .. anyway.. If you can find 14 hrs of spare time.. do watch Firefly.. the entire first (and only) season is available on DVD.

My uncle.. sweet man he is.. he cried at my wedding when I shook his hand… He was the foundation from which I started to appreciate music ( I used to sneak in his room and “borrow” his walkman and cassette tapes- earth wind and fire, shakatak, kool and the gang.) He taught me the meaning of Jazz. We were never like chummy chummy.. i don’t know maybe we were but maybe it’s just who he is. You see, I grew up with my grandmother. And all through my adolescent life there had been many shouting matches. Mostly about wasting electricity, water (cuz he paid the bills), and me swiping his cassettes.. .. But we are bound for the love of Manchester United (since FOREVER).. good music.. and good Nasi Goreng. Yeah this man can whip up a killer Nasi Goreng from scratch.. Often HOT AS HELL but gooooood. And ever so often when cooked up a batch, he would oblige me and my sister a little helping when we asked.

My Uncle.. for most of his life, a sailor he was.. he was robust..strong man with a sense of duty. From stories i gathered from my other uncles and my aunties, my Grandfather put him on a training ship when he was all of 16. You see my uncle was never a studying man. Stories have been told that on one of his voyages omething beckoned to jump ship into the deep blue sea. He was rescued and when he returned to shore from that voyage, ne never set sail again. In his many years sailing, he’d been to almost every port in the world…

My Uncle.. Simple man he is.. I can safely say he only started to learn how to SMS all of only 2 years ago.. maybe..He is not a friend of technology… well except for cable TV. No cable.. no soccer.. even the rationale behind that was simple.. I remember one incident, he recalled to us, of an interview he went to for a warehouse assistant position. The interviewer asked him if he was familiar with computers or willing to learn to use the computer system.

My uncle replied, ” Warehouse work also want to use computer. I so fucking old want me to learn computer. You can take your warehouse and fuck off.” I often wondered in the years after sailing, how good a bartender he was .

Me: hei, Cik Omar, you going for the Kool & The Gang gig?

My Uncle: huh.. when??!! this for the Mosaic festival ah? How come no advertisement one. Ticket sure fucking finish one.

Me : can try lah.. wait ah i check when .. *fiddles with phone*.. it’s on the 20th March.. tickets $40, $60, $80, $100, $120

I see him fiddling with his phone while staring off somewhere as I walk out of his room and to the kitchen to fix myself a drink..

My Uncle : Hoi you crazy lah.. mana boleh . cannot watch lah 20th March ..you must be out of your mind man..

Me : Huh?.. why.. tix sold out already isit..

My Uncle: .. No lah… Manchester United vs Liverpool on the 20th March

My uncle.. that’s him… over my right shoulder.. at my wedding.. in a MANCHESTER UNITED jersey..

went walkabout today and boy was I excited.. I had in my hands, an Alpha 850. got hold of it for the shoot tomorrow at the Singapore Air Show. but tonight i had other ideas. Didn’t occur to me to bring my tripod.. but make do lah…so i made lemonade out of lemons.. and got these.. all with a 50mm ..

It took me 3 years to get around to watching The Lost Room. This Sci-Fi Miniseries came out in 2006 I searched for the DVD’s .. no luck. until recently… and less the 3 months after I watch it.. Mediacorp 5 announces with aplomb, the PREMIERE of The Lost Room on Channel 5.. tsk..
